VPS V2 R1.0
The first major release of VPS® software since 2000, V2 R1.0, is now generally available for immediate distribution. This new release of VPS supports IBM's SYSOUT Application Program Interface (SAPI) for JES and offers new extensions and features.

New Features:
VPS and the associated LRS/Base programs have been modified to improve overall performance and to allow more printers to be active and processing work simultaneously.
Changes have been made to allow even speedier problem diagnosis, including improved and more efficient tracing, creation of transaction dumps, additional processing statistics, storage tracking and options for storage overlay detection.
VPS V2 R1.0 allows grouping SYSOUT datasets by OUTPUT group or by JOB for LPD connections. This means one email message can be delivered with multiple SYSOUT files sent as part of the message text or with each SYSOUT file sent as a separate attachment.
Support has been added for IP V6 addressing for all TCP/IP connections.
VPS V2 R1.0 can be started with TYPRUN=SCAN in the PARM on the EXEC statement. This allows VPS to scan and validate all System Initialization Member keywords, the message modification member, the member activiation include or exclude list member and any printer members that are requested to be activated. VPS will issue messages for keyword errors encountered. If no errors are encountered, VPS will issue a message to indicate the SCAN processing was successful and shut down. TYPRUN=SCAN allows testing keyword changes that are to be implemented at a later time without restarting the running VPS system.
Product key processing has been modified to support a file which contains all the valid keys for a customer. This file contains every product key for every CPU for which the customer has licensed a product. VPS and other LRS products will read that file to obtain the proper product key(s) to be used. This will eliminate the need to specify each product key value in the VPS System Initialization member.
